Pale Figure in Green

Here's the drawing I sent off for postcard design for the Annual Pilsen Art Walk show this year.
It's 11" x 14" on bristol, mixed media drawing I made this year in spring.

I made a lot of green things that color this spring.  It was our first season out of a basement apartment and I can't tell you how weird it was to live above ground again.  And weird that I never noticed how much it REALLY sucked to live in a hole.

I've already linked the loose change video to my friends - and the article in Vanity Fair came out a couple of weeks ago about it.  If you haven't heard, it's the most downloaded video on Google right now.  The directors compile evidence that refutes the official US Gov't 9/11 story.  Today I found this story about a new way to "secure" airplanes.  It's like Doctor Benway is in charge.

Bruce Scneier, internet security expert, posted today on the rss feed off of schneier.com:

"Does anyone other than me see a problem with this?"

Some 30 European businesses and research institutes are working to create software that would make it possible from a distance to regain control of an aircraft from hijackers, according to the German news magazine.

The system "which could only be controlled from the ground would conduct the aircraft posing a problem to the nearest airport whether it liked it or not," according to extracts from next Monday's Der Spiegel released Saturday.

"A hijacker would have no chance of reaching his goal," it said.

"Unless his goal were, um, hijacking the aircraft."

Here another detail (about 5" by 8") of a long narrow oil I'm working on. I don't have a title, but she's getting more zombie like every time I add a layer.
Again - I'll be showing this on at the Annual Pilsen Art Walk unless my neighbor buys it.  In which case I will take that money IMMEDJYUTLEE.  And subsquently not show this one in Sept.

detail of work in progress: beware beware

here's a close up shot by my crappy camera of a new work I'm showing in the SEPT 29th, 30, oct 1st pilsen art walk.  so far this is called 'beware beware'.  it's inspired by the bernard-henri levy book: war evil & the end of history.  specifically the green tamil tigers fighting on in sri lanka while the rest of the world falls apart, too.  she's got two kids in the painting with her, but the camera is SO bad at photos that this 10" by 10" detail is all that would even register.  the painting is about 5 feet long and two(ish) feet high.

Astronomers glimpse exploded star

Another juicy bit off of the BBC today with a killer picture of the star.
"A star on the brink of exploding as a spectacular supernova
has been glimpsed by international astronomers.

The star flared up suddenly last February, briefly becoming
1,000 times brighter than normal.
RS Ophiuchi is close to destroying itself in a nuclear explosion called a type 1a
supernova, scientists report in the journal Nature.

These are among the brightest phenomena in the Universe, radiating five billion

Two killed as artwork 'lifts off'

Two people have been killed and 12 injured after a giant, inflatable sculpture blew free from its moorings in the north-east of England.

Many were inside the artwork, which consists of connected rooms, when it lifted 30ft into the air at Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
