Two new artists in the Gallery of Forking Paths - Oct 12

We just added artists Kimberly Aubuchon (Unit B Gallery, formerly in Chicago's, now in San Antonio,) and sculptor/welder/sinner, Kenneth Morrison of Pilsen Pig Roast fame to the show I'm organizing, GALLERY OF FORKING PATHS, for the Cultural Affairs Chicago Artists' Month "Creative Alliances" event.  The line up so far:
Me - paintings & drawings (we may get a piano in there, and if so, some short pieces) I'm working on paintings of CB & Zsofia for the show.  I'll try to do more of the other artists, too.
Zsofia Otvos - Paintings and portraits of me & CB
Clara Batton Smith (the aforementioned CB, obviously) - collage & portraits of Zsofia & I
Lara Rivera - paintings.  She just got here from South Africa and works from a Bridgeport studio.
Tim Rutili - of Califone fame, his video short 3legged animals in which Zsofia, Chris and I took part
Kimberly Aubuchon - Unit B gallery operator, formerly of Chicago now in San Antonio, back in Pilsen showing her work
Kenneth Morrison - showing a sculpture that I don't want to give back to him risking that someone will buy it and I won't get to keep it in my house anymore. 
The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader String Band - A friend of mine from working on film crews plays that hideout regularly - old timey music, four voices, two banjos, a guitar & a fiddle.

Borges' stories inspired my title for the next big multi-artist charcoll exhibit, where we'll provide contextual information regarding the relationships the artists have with one another and how these alliances have changed their individual paths.  I've decided to continue to seek out artists I've worked with in the past to see how many threads of the collective I can weave into the little gallery in Pilsen for the group show.  The permanent charcoll artists, me, Zsofia Otvos and Clara Batton Smith have agreed to create portraits of each other in the spirit of the theme that we'll premiere for this show.

I'm adding artists but so far here's the line up:

Upcoming shows old & new works

For those of you who check the site - if you want a piece of mine & have been waiting to buy, the show on the 13th is a good day to persuade me to sell on a bid.  I'm moving that month & would MUCH rather sell art than move it from one studio to the next.  Especially the works on glass.  Those are really fun to move.  Cool looking - old window and all - but GLASS??  What the fuck was I thinking?

CBS5 reports of the 'gay bomb' project being abandoned by the Defense Department Pentagon.

I'm not sure how to feel about this, but it makes me happy for some reason, which, I'm sure is bad and makes me a bad bad person.  I'm not happy that it's an abandoned endeavor (at least they SAY it is,) that makes me sad in many ways.  It would delight me to be a witness to them running the ball futher toward to goal on this idea.  Probably better they didn't, but imagine how much fun it could have been to see this techweapon blossom onto the theatre of war.

Having a show Fri, July 13th in Pilsen before I move

I'm moving at the end of the summer & I'll have one last art sale before hand.  I'll be showing some work that I haven't shown in years, and have new work that I've made since that last exhibit in the fall.

I'll post images as soon as I get my hands on the digital camera promised me by Larry Roberts, who wants to come over to use my piano.  The small work I'll get to scanning in starting today and keep posting the images here up to the show.
